Halo Live LLC (Halo) explains here how to request deletion of data we receive through Instagram and Facebook, and how to check an Instagram deletion request. For details about the information we collect and use, read our Privacy Policy.
You can disconnect Instagram in Halo at any time. If Instagram is your only sign-in method, first add another sign-in method to keep access to Halo. Disconnecting removes the stored access token and associated Instagram profile data, profile picture, and recent media data. Your Halo and Instagram accounts remain available.
You can also remove Halo in Instagram Settings → Apps and Websites. When Meta notifies us that you have revoked access to Instagram, we queue the same Instagram data cleanup. You can request deletion directly by emailing support@halo.live.
When you submit an Instagram data deletion request through Meta, Meta sends Halo a signed request. After verifying that request, we immediately queue deletion of the Instagram connection and associated Instagram-derived data held by Halo. Processing happens in the background; acknowledging the request means it has been received, and completion is reported separately.
We return a unique confirmation code containing 16 letters and numbers, together with a link to the deletion status page on our website. The link includes your code so that you can check the request without signing in. Keep this link and code private.
Open the status link supplied with your request. It leads to /docs/data-deletion-status?code= followed by your confirmation code on the Halo website. The status page can show:
The page displays only the request status. It does not display an Instagram handle, email address, or user ID. If the status service is temporarily unavailable, please try again later or contact support.
We keep Instagram connection data while your account is connected and it is needed to provide the integration. A verified Meta deletion request is queued immediately. The status changes to completed when processing of the deletion request finishes; queueing a request does not mean the deletion has already finished.
Deleted data may remain in encrypted backups until the applicable backup retention window ends, including after the request status shows completed. AWS RDS backups are retained for seven days. Google Cloud backups follow their configured retention period.
This process concerns data held by Halo for the Instagram connection. To request deletion of your Halo account, Facebook-derived data, or other personal information, contact support. Any information retained to meet legal obligations is handled under our Privacy Policy.
